Which versions of Windows does this work on? Was it tested?
Folder Color is built for Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). It is developed and tested on Windows 11 against current Windows updates.
Do I need admin rights to install it?
No. Folder Color installs entirely to your user profile and registers its right-click menu without needing administrator access.
How does the free trial work?
15 days, every feature unlocked, no credit card required. If you don't buy, Folder Color takes its colors back on day 15 and your folders return to plain yellow. Your colors are saved, so activating a plan puts every one of them back. Uninstalling is one click and removes the app and the colors it added.
What happens to my folder colors if I reinstall Windows or sync with the cloud?
Folder Color keeps a small hidden .foldercolor marker file inside every folder you color. On any Windows PC running Folder Color and signed into the same OneDrive, Dropbox or Google Drive, your colors are re-applied automatically, at logon and every 10 minutes. This works on Windows PCs only. The OneDrive, Dropbox and Google Drive phone apps and websites show the standard folder icon. Backup & Restore also lets you export every color to one file and restore it after a reinstall.

What happens if my yearly plan ends?
You get 5 days after it ends to renew. We warn you in the app on day 1, day 3 and day 5. After day 5 your colors are removed for good, on your PCs and on any seats you gifted. Renew inside the 5 days and nothing changes.
